With the OEM there is a small lever which you pull down and turn to tighten the clamp and push back up. Both have a cover with lock so thieves cant access the clamps to steal the bars. One of the first changes I made was to remove them, I have no use for them, they just add wind noise and make it harder to clean the roof as well as remove snow, options from the spec sheet on mine. :wink. WebApr 26, 2024 · Personally I found the OEM roof rails and crossbars very easy to install, although you won't be wanting to remove them once installed (At least not the rails anyway). The picture you attached is not the OEM roof rack, at least not here in the US. I don't have any experience with the Thule rack you mentioned since I prefer to put my bike in the car.
